Police have been working behind the scenes to try and target prolific shoplifters, in particular Small groups of males who are entering convenience stores. Holding open doors and jumping behind till areas, stealing tobacco products, alcohol and other high value items. These incidents are becoming increasingly violent, threats have been made to the shopworkers who have to confront them. The great work is much appreciated from all the officers that have apprehended these offenders, the work that goes into identification and getting matters ready to CPS for charging. The CBO officers have been following up on conviction with CBO applications for the subjects to try and restrict their offending.

Be in possession of any bag or carry-all containing retail goods that are in their original packaging, having passed the last point of payment, in any public place, in England and Wales without proof of purchase. 8. Be in possession of any tools, equipment, or bags, adapted or intended for use in the theft of goods (e.g. foil-lined bags, cutters, or tag removers) 9. Enter any retail premises in England and Wales in the company of two or more people. see less Should these conditions be breached then police have a power to arrest and bring before the courts. This could result in a custodial sentence.
